Dr Frumar, our leading Opthalmologist and medical director has over 30 years experience in eye care. He is involved in Opthalmology research and practice at a number of different hospitals including the Royal North Shore Hospital and he lectures in Clinical Opthalmology at Sydney University. He has been internationally recognised for his skills and is a member of the Royal College of Opthalmologists UK and the American Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgery, among others. Dr Frumar has an active involvement in the design of surgical instruments and surgical computer software for cataract and refractive surgery.
Frances Toomeh, our leading orthoptist and practice manager, specialises in disorders of eye movements and diagnostic procedures relating to disorders of the eye and visual system as well as laser vision suitability assessments. Frances is a member of the Australian Orthoptic Board and holds a certificate of currency as she has maintained professional knowledge, up-to-date practicing skills and provides the highest quality care for patients.
At Northern Laser Vision Centre we use the Nu-Lasik technique in our eye laser surgery, which is unique from other surgery techniques because it does not cut the cornea. It provides far superior results and better stability than Lasik and is approved for most branches of the Australian Defence Forces as well as US Defence FOrces, whereas Lasik is not. Most patients who undergo this surgery have better vision without glasses than they did previously with glasses. This surgery technique also reduces the risk of long-term problems because there is no weakening of the cornea and there is less dry eye problems.
We also use the best and latest, internationally recognised and tested lenses.
